Margaret Blackmore’s bi-monthly round-up for The Pump

May 2011

The countryside in Clayhidon is fresh and green; the hedges are frothing with hedge parsley, with pink campion and bluebells providing the colour.

Sad news has hit several families.  Alec Levett died soon after leaving hospital.  Shaun Blackmore died next and then Chloë Deardsley was killed in an accident.  Everyone has been so kind in trying to support those grieving, and I know how much your thoughts and prayers have been appreciated.  Our sympathy goes to you all.

Please too remember Mike Baker, who is in poor health.

When we needed cheering, along came The Wedding!  The Friends of St Andrew’s held a street party, and the tables were laden with delicious food and the air hummed with talk, laughter and enjoyment.

The Parish Council has had a shot in the arm – 11 candidates for seven places is wonderful – all those people prepared to give their time and energy.  We thank them all, especially those who were not elected.

Michael and Pam Reynolds held a grand Birthday Party, which was fun for everyone.

Now we prepare for a Coffee Morning for cancer research.
