70 years of Clayhidon brought back to life in photo exhibition

This image of Dave Persey driving a magnificent pair of horses in a ploughing match is one of hundreds of photographs of Clayhidon people and events taken over the past 70 years and put together in an exhibition to celebrate The Queen’s reign.
The History Group has compiled a huge photographic record of life in the Blackdowns parish from 1952, when the Elizabeth became Queen.
The exhibition, which is free, is in St Andrews Church, Clayhidon on Bank Holiday Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 2pm till 5. A cream tea will be provided in the Church Room.
